The Codex Recorder enables the recording of data from the latest generation of digital cinematography cameras. It allows hours of continuous recording and instant playback. The removable disk packs allow data to be backed up and sent to post-production facilities as soon as the shot has been taken.

The rugged aluminium and carbon fibre construction ensures that all data is stored securely, while the hard anodised surfaces and solid construction provides the high-quality engineering finish that the film industry relies on.

The system has been engineered to ensure the disk drives do not overheat during use, nor can they be accidentally removed during recording. When out of the main unit, mechanisms in the disk pack close the ventilation ports. In addition, the disks are mounted to be protected from shock loads.

The Codex Recorder has won various awards within the film industry and has been used on set in films such as Quantum of Solace, Speed Racer and Journey to the Centre of the Earth.
